Thomas Chew
Thomas Chew is a certified Lean Master, Six Sigma Black Belt and a Kaizen Coach with 24yrs of experience in various industries. He has just returned from his expat assignment to Kazakhstan where he supported Shell as a Continuous Improvement Master Coach. His other assignments with Shell included being on assignment at Norske Shell (Upstream) in Norway where he developed fit for purpose Lean training programs. The training laid the foundation to support the roll-out of the Fit-For-Future initiative. A major contribution was in his role as CI Lead for Global Key Account (GKA) and Specialities (Europe), where he supported the simplification efforts in the Tender Assessment Process, reducing lead-time from 50 days to 14 days amongst others.
Thomas’ Lean journey started in ST Kinetics in 1999 when he was involved in the company-wide Lean Initiative. He received Gemba Kaizen training and mentoring under the Shingijutsu Co. Ltd. He provided training for 1400 employees and facilitated and coach close to 100 projects. His other exposure to Lean was with Honeywell Aerospace where he was the Lean Master with APAC responsibilities to deploy the Honeywell Operating System.
As a Senior Consultant with Centre for Performance Transformation, Thomas provides Lean Six Sigma training and consulting services to various organisations in Healthcare, Banking, Government institutions, Oil & Gas, Aerospace and Automotive in Singapore and ASEAN region.
Thomas graduated in BSc in Management (2nd Upper) from the University of London (1998).
